Double Take Various Artists

Double Take is the latest contemporary exhibition to be held at Hiscox Art Projects. The exhibition brings together work by four recent graduates from The Royal College of Art and will officially open on the 23rd September 2005. A shared motivation rather than a unifying aesthetic ties these artists together, each taking commonplace objects and scenarios to rework them. All the works in their own way challenge one’s perception, demanding the viewer to reconsider that which is familiar and often overlooked. Humorous, dreamlike or enhancing the formal qualities of common objects, the works in this exhibition call upon our attention through the manipulation of our domestic surroundings: spaces, materials and situations are animated, and propose to look afresh at our environment and to re-imagine it.

The exhibition opened to the public from 23 September to 12 November at Hiscox.
